The City of Antigua Guatemala is located just 40 kilometers, approximately 1 hour, away from the International Airport La Aurora. It is a main icon of the Hispanic colonial heritage and it was designated as a “World Heritage Site” by UNESCO in 1979. It is rounded by three volcanoes and mountains with coffee plantations. “La Antigua” has cobblestone streets and ancestral edifications reflecting the heritage of the Hispanic colonial era. There are many activities people can enjoy, for example, visiting the Mercado de Artesanías (Handcraft Market), the Ruinas de la Compañía de Jesús (Ruins of the Society of Jesus), Ruinas del Convento de la Recolección (La Recolección Convent Ruins), Cerro de la Cruz (Hill of the Cross), Convento de Capuchinas (Capuchinas Convent), among other activities.
